TVMDL’s Gayman Helman Talks Abortion in Cattle and Considerations for Addressing  It

This is peak breeding season for many of our cattle producers on the High Plains. With that, there can sometimes be a rise in abortion rates in herds.

Resident Director of the Texas A&M Veterinary Medical Diagnostic Lab Gayman Helman says that in many cases, even with testing, it is hard to pinpoint why this might happen. But, having a relationship with your vet and knowing the steps to take when you do see a rise in abortion in your herd can help you narrow down the cause.
