Two men are in the hospital after an attempted robbery on Friday night.

At 8:45 p.m. the men entered a convenience store in the area of Northeast 24th and North Wilson Street with a shotgun.

They then threatened the clerk and demanded money from the register.

The clerk, however, was armed and shot the two would-be thieves.

Both men were transported to the hospital with life-threatening injuries.

The case is under investigation by the Amarillo Police Department.
