Another candidate has thrown his hat into the ring to replace Mac Thornberry.

Vance Snider II  formally announced his run on the Republican primary ballot for Texas’s 13th Congressional District.

Snider grew up in Dumas and currently reside in Amarillo, TX.

He served in Operation Enduring Freedom 10 from 2009 to 2010 with the most decorated unit from Afghanistan with 4th Infantry Division, 4th brigade combat team, 3rd Squadron 61st Cavalry Regiment, Alpha Troop.

Snider continued his service in Operation Spartan Shield as Quick Reaction Force immediately following the shut down of Iraq in 2011 with 1st Cavalry Division, 1st Brigade Combat Team, 1 Squadron 7th Cavalry Regiment, Alpha Troop from 2011 to 2012.

In a press release, he stated that he is an average American who believes in true patriotism and the Constitution of the United States.

He knows the struggle of the American Workforce due to being furloughed by BNSF Railway for 19 months without pay from 2015 to 2017 scraping by paycheck to paycheck while attending college to further my education.

He also knows the feeling of being a veteran scared and alone without hope or help in the world due to lack of education of the VA Healthcare System and the horror stories heard via social media and other sources.

The Armed Forces Committee is losing a valuable asset with Mac Thornberry stepping down as the Texas 13th Congressional District Representative.

Snider will be putting together a committee and appointing a treasurer soon.
