Amarillo’s Bridge Children’s Advocacy Center is commemorating Child Abuse Awareness Month on Saturday, April 27th.
Those who attend the Walk In Their Shoes event will be able to Walk or Run a one-mile course at 804 Quail Creek Drive.
The registration is $15 for adults and $10 for children and Bridge officials say participation is critical.
Recent research shows one in six Texas children will suffer sexual abuse before their 18th birthday. Focusing on ways to build and promote protective factors, in every interaction with children and families, is the best thing to do to prevent child maltreatment and promote optimal child development.”
