WTAMU Retention Up -Enrollment Down

There is good news and bad news for West Texas A and M University

First the good news, the school has retained 90 percent of its freshman fall class to the spring semester, more than four percent higher than last spring.

WT officials give credit to its Start Strong Initiative and credits it with the student body moving back to normal after 2020.

The bad news.. WT says it’s seeing a normal drop in overall enrollment this spring semester, with under-grad numbers slightly up – and graduate student numbers dropping significantly.

West Texas A&M believes retaining students starts early by helping students feel more at home from the beginning.
