Xcel Tending To Power Outage In Area Of 45th And Coulters

Xcel Energy reports it is dealing with a number of power outages in and around Amarillo, including what is being described as a transformer that has exploded in the area of 45th and Coulter. The trouble was first reported at 3:43 this afternoon. As of 4:15, an estimated 3528 homes and businesses are without power.

Xcel is assessing the situation and damage, but there is no estimate as to when that power may be restored to any affected areas.
